Anti-Counterfeit Task Force Formed

Beth DeisherThe Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) board of directors approved at their January 4 board meeting the formation of an Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force committee to mobilize law enforcement resources to protect the integrity of U.S. coinage by educating officials on the economic impact and growing threat counterfeit circulating, collectible, and bullion coins pose to the collecting community as well as the public at large.

The board also approved the hiring of Beth Deisher as director of anti-counterfeiting. The committee and Beth’s salary will be financed by donations to a separate, dedicated fund.

Adkins Announces Run for ANA President

Gary AdkinsGary Adkins, current Vice President and three term board member of the American Numismatic Association announced today that he will run for the office of President of the organization.

“The ANA has made a great deal of progress over the past few years, especially under the Presidency of Jeff Garrett and the current Board, as well as our Executive Director, Kim Kiick. I want to continue that forward momentum and do what I can to improve our services and commitments to members, dealers and the numismatic community in general”.

Diehl, Adkins, and Allen Honored with Service Award

Deihl, Adkins, and Allen Honored with Service AwardICTA chairman Philip Diehl and board members Gary Adkins and Greg Allen were honored during the Industry Council for Tangible Assets membership and board of directors’ dinner in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 4 as the recipients of the annual Diane Piret Memorial Outstanding Service Award.

ICTA Welcomes New Team Member

Jonathon VillavicencioThe Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) is expanding its team with legal and legislative-affairs expertise. Effective October 3, Jonathon Villavicencio (Sacramento, California) became the association’s legislative-affairs coordinator.

John brings ICTA his expansive knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes, having spent the past two years working as a legislative/regulatory consultant for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to national associations.

ICTA Recognized for Exemplary Service

David Crenshaw and Kathy McFadden receive the ANA Exemplary Service Award from ANA governor Steve Ellsworth (right). The Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) received the Exemplary Service Award for advocacy on behalf of the numismatic hobby, presented on August 11 at the American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Anaheim, California.
