Piret named 2014 Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award winner

Diane PiretDiane Piret will be recognized as the 2014 recipient of the American Numismatic Association's Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award for Achievement in Numismatics on Aug. 8, during the Awards Banquet at the Chicago World's Fair of Money® in Rosemont, Illinois.

Crenshaw 2014 ANA Glenn Smedley Memorial Award Honoree

The recipients of the 2014 Medal of Merit, Glenn Smedley Memorial Award, Adna G. Wilde Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence, Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture and Exemplary Service Award will be formally recognized at the upcoming Chicago World's Fair of MoneySM, to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, Aug. 5-9.

ICTA launches new website

The Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) launched today a new website at ictaonline.org.

Oklahoma amends sales-tax exemption law

On June 4, 2014, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin signed SB 862 providing a sales-tax exemption for "sales of gold, silver, platinum, palladium or other bullion items such as coins and bars," and removing the qualification that these products must be stored within a recognized depository facility. The law will take effect November 1, 2014.
